WEMI was founded in the late 70’s, specializing itself in the production of welding generators for industry. The study of complex technologies and the continuous search for new applications qualify the company and its product so much that in 1986 an American multinational decides to take it over, bringing a quick technological development. In a few months, 90% of the multinational’s generators in Europe are manufactured by WEMI, which specializes in the production of personalized equipments for some of the most important brands worldwide. WEMI becomes in a few years the main Italian company in the production of industrial generators. With the crisis in the sector and the irrevocable decision by the American multinational to withdraw from the European market, WEMI is taken over by group CERSO which, reaorganizing the company according to the European standards and exploiting new resources, takes the first steps for the recreation of its image.
